Just in case any UK based fans read the messageboard today - Allison will on BBC2's "Transatlantic Sessions" programme tonight (Sunday 11 October 2009).

The show will be repeated on Friday 16 October 2009 on BBC4 at 8.30pm.

cheers

Although the Transatlantic Sessions (series 3) have very recently disappeared from the BBC iPlayer, I suspect that they will be repeated and available again before too long. If they are, then I very strongly recommend watching at least episode 5 - 22 minutes into that, Allison sings Carrickfergus and it's as close to perfection (i.e. Emmylou's Goodbye! ;-) ) as possible - and it's live, to boot! It really is sublime and should be prescribed to anyone feeling down. It would be wonderful if it could be released as a single or put on a live album. She was on episodes 2 and 4 as well - and I've just realised that (of course!) Carrickfergus and Mockingbird are on YouTube now - don't miss them!

I must admit that this was my introduction to Allison, but I'm catching up quickly - and am annoyed at how I've missed out on hearing her before.

Here's the YouTube link to "Carrickfergus," performed beautifully:

And here's the link for "Mockingbird," with Allison's first name misspelled on YouTube and in the clip itself:
